Lida Louise Cox

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Lida Louise Roberts Cox, 97, of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday August 11, 2021 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Holmesville Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. Wednesday until services at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cox passed from this life on August 7, 2021 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Cox was a loving mother providing for her family and at the age of 40 she was accepted into Nursing School where she graduated with honors at the top of her class. She retired from E. A. Conway Memorial Hospital after 20 years of service. After her retirement she was recruited by the Physicians at Glenwood to join the nursey to take care of the babies, which she did serving another 12 years. She and her husband were married for over 71 years and after their retirement they enjoyed traveling in their motorhome enjoying many cities and states across America.
Lida was preceded in death by her husband, T. W. Cox, Son-in-law, G. G. Shinn, Sister, Mary Ruth (Tootsie) Hazel, and two brothers, Odell and Hugh Roberts.
Survivors: her daughter, Sandra C. Shinn; Sons, Tommy Cox and wife, Doris and Terry Cox and his fur babies (Freckles and Bob); Grandchildren, Cindy Stone (Scott), Debbie Herrington (Blake), Nikki Rogillio (Ben), Angela Ossman, Casey Cox, Todd Calloura (Brandy), Jessica Antley (Micah), and Kristen Mardis (Colby); bonus grandchildren, GiGi Shinn, Curt Shinn, Chris Shinn, Cory Shinn, Craig Shinn, Sonya Tripp and Jeff Mercer; 20 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scott Stone, Blake Herrington, Cody Stone, Cade Stone, Tony Osborne, Todd Calloura, Micah Antley, and Casey Cox.
Memorials may be made to the Holmesville Baptist Church.
