Mrs. Wright was born July 3, 1932 and passed away on May 17, 2019. She was a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church. Ann taught and helped with Vacation Bible School and Children’s Chapel for many years. Ann was a beloved wife, mother, Grandmommie and friend and has brightened the lives of many people during her eighty-six years. Sweet and kind have been words used to describe Ann. Even her sisters while growing up together referred to her as sweet. She loved her family and friends and has touched the lives of many during her eighty-six years. She not only loved her three children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but the children of many others as she was an elementary school teacher. Teaching third grade at St. Paschal and kindergarten at Our Lady of Fatima for several years, she touched the lives of many. She oftentimes left the school after working all day and greeted customer at the El Matador Mexican Restaurant that was owned by her and her husband.

She had a love for animals that has been passed on to her children. She also had a “green thumb” and enjoyed being outside. One of her greatest pleasures was working in her yard.

Ann loved spending time at the beach enjoying the sun, sand, surf, and wind. Now she is enjoying the sights and sounds of heaven that far surpasses her experiences on our earthly shores.

Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her parents, William Calvin and Pearl Gertrude Hurst; her husband, William G. Wright; and her sister, Billie Jean Powers.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Emily Terrell; three children, Debra Pate and husband Curtis, William “Bill” Wright, II, and Cindy Marsh and husband Ronnie; three grandchildren, Brandee Yarbrough and husband Wes, Justin Marsh and wife Heather, and Emilee Pate; four great-grandchildren, Bailey Yarbrough, Ethan Yarbrough, Evan Yarbrough, and Callie Marsh; and numerous other relatives including cousins, nieces, and great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special and dear friends from their “craft” group that include Vernita O’pry, Frances Sampognaro, Gloria Crocker, Barbara Walker, Della Neitz, and the late Dolores Fox.

Pallbearers will be Adam Carter, Joey Neitz, Mark Walley, Mike Wyatt, Jo Neitz, and Scott Pickett. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Crocker and Wayne Walker.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, May 20, 2019, at the funeral home.
