Funeral services for Leona Ates, 87, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Justin Nowlin officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
Mrs. Ates was born September 15, 1931, in Alexandria, LA, and passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at her residence.
Mrs. Ates was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Vernie Ates, Sr.; and son, Wallace Dale Ates.
Survivors include her 2 children, Vernie Ates, Jr. and Penny Tidwell; 4 grandchildren, Christopher Ates, Jacob Branch, Danni Doty, and Mary Fisher; 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
