Leon Spillers

Funeral Services for Mr. Leon Spillers, 53, of Monroe, LA, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Bosco Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby White and Rev. Jessye Balsh officiating. Interment will follow at Bosco Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Mr. Spillers was born July 11, 1968 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 9, 2022. He was member of the Baptist faith, in his past, he attended Banks Springs Baptist Church. Leon worked for the Monroe City School System for 15+ years. He always cooked on an open fire on a cast iron skillet. Leon was a jokester and professional “BS’er”. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping. Leon received a kidney transplant on July 14, 2019 and started traveling with Mrs. Sharryn, Yellowstone was his favorite place.

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Sharryn Spillers; parents, Charles and Norma Spillers; sister, Sheila Wood; special niece and nephew, Abbigail Spillers and Robert Charles Wood; six dogs, “Hilda”, “Lap”, “CoCo”, “Jewel”, “MoMo”, and “Sandy”; special friends, Michelle Duchesne and Jimmy Holyfield; as well as numerous other, too many to list. You know who you are.

Pallbearers will be Tracy West, Kenny Killan, James Ramsey, Barry McMilleon, Robert Wood, Mark Gonzales, Wade Jackson and Sheila Wood.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Bosco Baptist Church.
