Lena Mae McMorris

Due to Covid the family has requested a private funeral service for Mrs. Lena Mae McMorris, 95, of Monroe, LA, to be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. William Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe.
Mrs. McMorris was born on June 27, 1926, in Lake City, Arkansas and passed away on January 11, 2022, in Monroe. She was a charter member of Lakeshore Baptist Church. Mrs. McMorris started her teaching career in Lake City, AR before marrying James McMorris and then moving to Monroe. She taught preschool and elementary school. Everywhere she went she would have someone tell her that she had taught them in elementary school and that she could not retire until their grandchildren were taught by her.

Mrs. McMorris was preceded in death by her husband, James W. McMorris and son-in-law, Henry Alan Pier.
Survivors include her children, Debbie McMorris Pier, Gary McMorris and wife Pat, and Mike McMorris and wife Rhonda; grandchildren, Mandy Harris, Shane Russell, Jeremy McMorris, Heath Pier, and Devin Pier; 12 Great Grandchildren; and sister, Vae Williams and husband Jackie.

Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church.
