Funeral services for Lawrence Bryan Thorn, 77, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 11, 2015, in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.Mr. Thorn died Thursday, May 7, 2015. He graduated from Northeast Louisiana University and received his Master’s Degree from Louisiana Tech University. He moved to Madison, AL, in 1962 where he worked for U.S. Army Redstone Arsenal as a physicist for 35 years. Mr. Thorn moved back to the Monroe area in 2009 and was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church. Mr. Thorn was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Thorn and Evelyn Hudson Thorn.Survivors include his wife, Molly Naff Thorn; daughter, Karen Rene Beeson and husband Jonathan of Dothan, AL; sons, Bryan Thorn and wife Toni of Monroe, LA, Jonathan Thorn and wife Mary of Houston, TX; grandsons, Brandon Beeson, Dustin Beeson, Aaron Beeson, Jared Thorn, Jake Thorn, Joshua Thorn, Jason Thorn; and six great-grandchildren.Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 9, 2015, at the funeral home.Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.comMulhearn Funeral HomeSterlington RoadMonroe, LA
