Laura Ellen Platt

Funeral Services for Mrs. Laura Ellen Platt, 93, of Poplarville, MS, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 2, 2022, at Burroughs Pentecostal Church in Columbia, LA, with Rev. Charles Larrent officiating. Interment will follow in Amity Cemetery in Richland Parish under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Platt was born November 14, 1929, in Monroe, AR and passed away November 29, 2022, in Poplarville, MS. She was lovingly known as “MawMaw” to all who knew her, and as “Big Momma” to her grandchildren. Mrs. Platt was very caring and will be truly missed and never forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Susan Franks; her parents; one sister and one brother.

Survivors include her husband of 76 years, Oliver Dewey Platt; children, Kathy Platt and Thomas A. Platt and wife Betty; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Platt, Donnie Platt, Patrick Platt, Steven Platt, Scott Platt, and Randy Platt.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time on Friday at Burroughs Pentecostal Church in Columbia, LA.
