Funeral Services for Mr. Larry R. Hires, 66, of Monroe, LA, will be 3:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2019, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Mr. Brent Boyd and Rev. Willie Wesby officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.
Mr. Hires was born February 19, 1953 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 8, 2019. Growing up, Larry worked for his dad at the grocery store in Lake Providence. He then owned and operated a radiator shop in Oak Grove and was a hub driver for AutoZone. Larry retired after 16 years with the State of Louisiana as the health inspector/sanitarian. He loved spending time with his family especially his sons.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Opeal Morgan Hires; and a brother, Gary Hires.
Survivors include his wife of 17 ½ years, Pamela G. Hires; two sons, Jared “Todd” Hires and Colby Morgan Hires; five stepchildren, Shannon Douglas Hughes, Dortha Leigh Hughes, K. Marissa Hughes Boyd, Sarah Megan Hughes, and Miranda Colleen Hughes; two grandchildren, Hayden and Daven Hires; father, Richard Hires; siblings, Linda Dupree (Ricky), Brenda Haring (Ron), Rodney Hires, Kay Hires, Todd Hires (Sheree); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Carlton Madden, Bruce Bolton, Jason Owens, Jan Alford, Eric Shopher, and Sheree Hires.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Friday, July 12, 2019, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
