In the early hours of February 18, 2021, Kathy McNeill Young Johnston, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister passed away at the age of 73.
She was born on July 25, 1947 in Louisville, Mississippi to Ted and Maxine McNeill. Kathy went to high school in Louisville and later to Clarke College. She was the mother of two daughters, Robin Young Milstead and Kacie Johnston Conville, and doting grandmother of Meagan, Dylan, Samantha, and Junie, and great grandmother of Amelia.
Kathy’s quick wit, infectious laugh, and her kind compassionate spirit made her loved by all who knew her. She even received “Wittiest Girl” in Who’s Who in high school. Nobody could be around Kathy without laughing. She also loved watching scary movies with her daughters and playing games with her grandchildren.
Preceding Kathy in death was her beloved husband Sammy, her parents and much-loved grandparents Inez and Grady Barnhill.
She is survived by her daughters Robin Milstead (Andy), of Princeton, Texas, Kacie Conville (Dustan) of West Monroe, Louisiana, and 4 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. She is also survived by brother Don McNeill (Fran) of Jackson, Mississippi and sister Teddy Hadder (Eddie) of Fort Worth, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kathy will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. She was well loved.
