Kathie Jan Fleischmann Robinson died on May 31, 2024. Kathie was born on February 9, 1937, to Godfrey and Gladys Nolan Fleischmann. She grew up in Start, Louisiana where she enjoyed basketball, cheerleading, dancing, and playing the piano, excelling in them all. She attended Stephens College, LSU, and ULM where she received her master’s in education.
Kathie worked for the Department of Revenue for many years and later taught at Bastrop Junior High until she retired. After retirement she tutored at the St. Paul’s After School Tutoring Program. Her years of teaching brought her great fulfillment.
She is preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Mollie Ann Fleischmann.
She is survived by her children, Robert Ewing, IV., Krista Katherine Ewing Wilson, many cousins, and a host of friends.
Kathie will be remembered for her great faith in God and as a prayer warrior. She nurtured many people in her home and in her heart. Her fun personality, quick wit, sense of style and her dedication to her family and friends will be forever cherished.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. R. B. Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
The pallbearers will be Curry Bagwell, Nolan Clark, Brady King, Logan Nolan, Will Nolan, Benjamin Peters, Jr., Jonathan Peters, and Nolan Peters.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Brown, Cecil Hill, Earl Nolan, Wishy Nolan, Francis Thompson, Bo Godfrey, Mike Thompson, Bobby Dhu Thompson, and Jason Tiser.
Great appreciation goes to Pat Dunn, Jennifer Oswalt, Glenda Salley, and Claire Clary who lovingly cared for her along with many others who were devoted to her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the River City Humane Society of cats.
