Katherine Elaine Spillers

Funeral services celebrating the life of Katherine Elaine Spillers, 72, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Aulds Chapel Church, in Downsville, Louisiana, with Rev. Jeff Robinson officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at the Aulds Chapel Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of service on Tuesday.

Mrs. Spillers was born in Papa, Texas on October 10, 1951, and passed away in Monroe, Louisiana on July 13, 2024.

She loved to hunt and fish with her husband and playing with her grandchildren. Katherine was also an avid bingo player. She loved to cook and bake for her family as well. Katherine was a bus driver for the Ouachita Parish School Board and retired after thirty and a half years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Daymond and Mildred Taylor; and her daughter, Teresa Ladner.

Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, James Spillers; daughters, Alicia Spillers (Wendi) and Jamie Spillers (Danny); son, James “Bubba” Spillers, Jr. (Tammy); grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Jacob Ladner, Taylor Johnson (Jay), Brooke Webb (Andy), and Abbey Minter (Joseph); great grandchildren, Maddy, Emory, Everly, Avery, Eason, Emeila, Bryce, and Ellie Kate; sister, Ezel Smith; nieces, Angie and Nicole; and nephew, Bill; and many other nieces, nephews, and other family.

The pallbearers will be E.J. Jordan, Eric Jordan, Tony Ardis, Aaron Ardis, Seth Navarro, and Bill Nobles. The honorary pallbearers will be Danny Howard, Dennis Howard, and Barry Linder.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
