Funeral Services for Mrs. Karma Jean Brigman Hollis Hall, 90, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 17, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Rev. Matt Coker, minister of Paron Baptist church in Sterlington, officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
Karma Jean Brigman Hollis Hall of Sterlington was born August 27, 1932, and passed from this life on August 15,2023. She is survived by her children Johnnie Jo Hollis Worley and husband William of West Monroe; Steve Hollis and wife Jean of Ruston; and Phillip Hollis of Farmerville. Granny Jean is also survived by her precious grandchildren Hollis Kelly and wife Karey of Kiln, MS; Douglas Kelly and his wife Heather of Crowley, LA; Maridith Hollis of Mobile, AL; Lily Claire Wedding and husband Jason of McKinney, TX; Kerry Harrell and husband Kevin of Highland Village, TX; Casey Hollis and wife Ashley of Westminster, SC; Logan Hollis and wife Andria of Goldthwaite, TX; and Payton Hollis of Bastrop, LA. Her great grandchildren are Silas Kelly, Aubrey Jo Kelly, Kimber Kelly, Saren Hoffpauir, Kennedi Stelly, Leah Evelyn Wedding, Hudson Harrell, Lauryn Freeman, Kayden Freeman, Casen Hollis, Carver Hollis, Savannah Hollis, Maddox Hollis, Jessalyn Robinson, Lee Robinson, and many other family members and friends, including her special friend Melva Freeman.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny C. Brigman and Karma Crow Brigman Brantley; her loving stepfather, Joe Lee Brantley; her husband and father of her children Harrell Hollis; and her husband, Clifton Hall.
Jean was known as an energetic, fun person who loved her family, both her biological and her church family, worked tirelessly on any project on which she was needed, and enjoyed many travels, both business and pleasure, with her husband. She served the Lord as a faithful member of the Paron Baptist Church of Sterlington and going on mission trips to south Louisiana. She and husband Clif spent many hours preparing for and working at the Barak Shrine Circus each year as long as they were able. They were also involved in transporting children to Shriners' Hospitals in various parts of the country.
Jean and Clif were married almost 50 years and were not only involved in church and civic activities, but also traveled to a number of states in our country. They enjoyed camping and fishing trips with friends and were at one time very active in a square dance club. She was an excellent cook and prepared many delicious meals for family and friends. She retired from the banking industry after 27 years of dedicated efficiency in her work.
Pallbearers are Hollis Kelly, Douglas Kelly, Kevin Harrell, Jason Wedding, Payton Hollis, and James Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Casey Hollis and Logan Hollis.
