Karen Dianne Simpson

Funeral services celebrating the life of Karen Dianne Simpson, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rebecca Mixon officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Bastrop, Louisiana, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of service.

Karen Dianne Simpson, 71, was born October 24, 1953, in Williams, AZ, and she passed away on February 9, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Monroe, LA.

Karen retired from Arthur J. Gallagher in 2020. She was a member of Certified Professional Insurance Women for many years and truly treasured the friendships she made during her more than 40 years in the insurance industry.

Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Rae Smith; her father, Ervin Simpson; her brother, Barry Simpson; her first husband, Larry Hicks; and her second husband, Charlie Shingler; her nephew, Gary Simpson; as well as her grandparents; aunts and uncles; and many beloved cousins including Jessica Heard who passed just a few days before on February 6.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Dianne Clevenger; her grandchildren, Michael "Mac" Clevenger and Marley Clevenger; her bonus children, Melissa McMillin, Jason Clevenger, Richie Magee, and Patrick O'Neal; her brother, Dale Simpson and his wife Liz as well as their children and grandchildren; and her cherished Ya-Yas, Julie BogganSmith, Teresa BogganSmith, Leslie Bryan, and Ruth Ramsey.

Pallbearers will be Joy Bowie, Jason Clevenger, Richie Magee, Patrick O'Neal, Janna Ramsey Smith, and Joe Ramsey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to River Cities Humane Society for Cats in Monroe, LA.
