Karen Brister Courville

Funeral services celebrating the life of Karen Brister Courville, 66, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 4, 2024, at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church located in West Monroe, LA with her nephew, Patrick Petrus officiating.  Interment will follow in the New Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Karen was born on September 10, 1957 and passed away after a battle with cancer on January 1, 2024. 

Karen was an avid book lover.  The West Monroe library knew her well.  She also enjoyed fishing with a cane pole and shopping in Canton, TX.  The thing she enjoyed most in life were her five grandkids.  She loved them more than her own two girls.

She is preceded in death by her parents, “Buck” and Bobbie Brister; father-in-law, Percy Courville; mother-in-law, Bernice Hardy; brother-in-law, Steve Adams; sister-in-law Cheryl Courville; and brother-in-law Mark Courville.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Roy Courville; daughters, Apryl Bundy and husband, Brian and Rachel Wales and husband, Drew; grandchildren, Harper, Hallie and Hollyn Wales; Hudson and Dawson Bundy; and sister, Tammy Adams.

Pallbearers will be Gary Savage, Mike Brister, Riley Petrus, Stephen Woods, Brian Woods, and David Woods.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Kenny Brister and Charlie Courville.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

The family gives a special thank you to her Lumen co-workers for the love and support they have shown over her cancer journey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in honor of her two grandsons, Harper Wales and Dawson Bundy or to Pilots for Patients.
