Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Mr. Cannon residence 1132 Downs Road in West Monroe, LA.Mr. Cannon was born December 2, 1941 and passed away on August 28, 2015. Mr. Cannon was a state recognized Choctaw Medicine Man, drum maker and started Round the World Drumming on White Buffalo Calf Day. Mr. Cannon was an honorary citizen of New Orleans, where he was given a key to the city and a day was named in his honor. He was founder of the Louisiana Choctaw Wormband, co- founder of the wounded warrior program for veterans, and joined the Mardi Gras Indians together. He is preceded in death by his parents, Crissler and Yoma Cannon, and sister, Gloria Ezell.Survivors include his wife, Alice Faye “Yellow Butterfly” Cannon; children, Andrew J. Cannon and wife, Beatrice, Molly Robin Cannon and fianc Kerry Heffner, Steve Austin Cannon; grandchildren, Joseph Aaron Cannon, Caleb Sawyer Cannon and wife Taylor; great grandchild, Madison Renee Cannon; brother, Joe Lafon Cannon, and sister Phyllis Kerrigan.Online Condolences/registry www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com“Let No One Ever Come To You Without Leaving Better And Happier.
