Services for Mr. Julian H. Duncan, 94 of Winnsboro, will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Bro. Mickey Gallup and Rev. Craig Beeman officiating. Interment will follow in Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA., under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro.Mr. Duncan was born, June 9, 1921, to the union of John and Hautie Lambert Duncan. After graduating from Winnsboro High School, he served the United States Army from 1943—1946 throughout the South Pacific, where he was qualified as a Rifle Expert (sharpshooter), and was known by friends and family as “Dead Eye”. He married the love of his life, Virginia Weston in November 1946, who held a deep devotion for him as well. In his younger years, they traveled and he was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed gardening. Most people will always remember Julian at his Drug Store, he dearly loved. He was a kind, helpful, well loved, gentleman, especially helping both the young and elderly.Mr. Duncan is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Zelma Ezernack, Clara Taylor, Peggy Gould and brother; Lester Duncan.Survivors include: wife of 69 years, Virginia Weston Duncan, brother; Johnny Duncan of Wisner, LA., and a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.Special thanks to Dr. Tom Colvin, Sandy Hatton, Abe Credit, Lee Ann Bonner, Felicha Cotton, Pearlie Johnson, and Mr. Mac and Tammy McClain.Pallbearers are: Abe Credit, K. P. Bonner, Joe Michael Hatton, “Red” McClain, and Chad Hatton.Honorary Pallbearers are: Dr. Tom Colvin, Cleveland Wiggins, Jr., William McDowell, and Jerry Breithaupt.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16th at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
