Funeral services for Julian David Villanueva, 98, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Joe Puthuppally and Rev. Thomas Lijo officiating. Interment will follow at St. Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery.
Mr. Villanueva passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and member of the Men’s Club at St. Joseph’s, and later he joined St. Matthew Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elia Salinas Villanueva; mother, Avelina Coronado Villanueva; granddaughter, Maria Hazelton; and great grandson, Christopher Hazelton.
Survivors include his brother, Jose Luis Villanueva; son, David M. Villanueva; daughters, Eva Taunton and husband Gene, Virginia Magana and husband Oscar, Josephine Flowers, Lena Dalton, and Pat Malone and husband Robin; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren; and twenty-three great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Taunton, Jr., Kenneth Taunton, Steve Williams, Patrick Williams, Guy Williams, and Robin, Malone.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday, May 24, 2010 with a Vigil Wake at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Shrine at Baltimore, MD.
