Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Temple of B’nai Israel, Monroe LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.Jules Dante was one of identical twin sons born on November 19, 1932 in Monroe, Louisiana, and died peacefully at his home in West Monroe on October 25, 2015. Jules was a 1951 graduate of Winnsboro High School and a 1956 graduate of LSU in Baton Rouge. Jules led a happy and fulfilling life. He was an Eagle Scout and lived his life based on The Twelve Points of the Scout Law: He was TRUSTWORTHY in all of his dealings. He was LOYAL to his wife, Charlotte, his three sons, his extended family and his many friends. He was HELPFUL and was always the first to offer his aid no matter the cost. He was FRIENDLY and never met a stranger. He was COURTEOUS to all and he was “colorblind”. He was KIND and giving and rescued many dogs and cats. He was OBEDIENT and lived his life according to the Laws of Moses. He was CHEERFUL, even when he was losing his battle with cancer. He was THRIFTY and always provided for his family’s needs. He was BRAVE and ready to fight for what he believed in. He was CLEAN, with a pure heart. He was REVERENT, and patterned his life to “do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8) Jules taught school in London, England and Ankara, Turkey before returning to the “good ole US of A”. Jules was a successful businessman in Winnsboro, LA, but his first love was teaching. Jules retired from teaching at Ouachita Parish High School in January 2000, but never forgot his legions of students who adored him. He added a successful career in customer service with Cablevision before he “retired for good” to take care of needs at home. Jules was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gladys Dante of Winnsboro. Jules is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte Latham Dante; his three sons: Jules E. Dante (JED) and JED’s wife, Marie; Joseph Dante and Jason Dante; his twin brother, Morris Dante and Morris’ wife, Diane; as well as their extended family; his older brother, Selwyn Dante and Selwyn’s wife, Betty. Jules had an extended family that he loved and who loved him, his nieces, nephews and their families and “Cuzzins”. Jules is also survived by his poker buddies who added so much enjoyment to his final years. Jules was fortunate to have caregivers who provided compassionate care for Jules and Charlotte. Family and Friends are invited to attend either visitation: Wednesday, October 28, 2015, 6:00pm-8:00pm at the Hampton Inn West Monroe in the Hospitality Room In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation to one of Jules’ favorite charities: The Alzheimer’s Association, The Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana and The Jewish National Fund.Arrangements under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.Mulhearn Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA
