Funeral services for Judy Cooper Martin, 72, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2018, at Highland Park Baptist Church, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Larry Linson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Martin was born January 8, 1946, in Monroe, LA, and passed away, Thursday, January 18, 2018, in Monroe, LA.
She was a long-time resident of Monroe and owned Judy C. Martin, Inc., a silver, china, and crystal retail store headquartered in Monroe with multiple locations in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and Mississippi. Not only was she an excellent business woman, but a beloved friend to many, mother, wife, and grandmother. Her family and friends were her life. Once you met her you were immediately family. She was a one of a kind, that will be sorely missed.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Cooper and Mildred Brown Cooper.
Survivors include her husband, Kimber E. Ledet; children, Lori Martin Bernard and husband Stan, Todd Cooper Martin and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Jace Martin Bernard, Jett Patrick Bernard, Sawyer Presley Martin due in April, step-grandchild Derek Bernard, wife Mala, and step-great grandson Kaleb Bernard.
Pallbearers will be Stan Bernard, Jace Bernard, Ronald Babb, Rusty Babb, Terry Brown, Doug Blackmon, and Shane Roberts.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the West Monroe Guesthouse, The Oaks, her physical therapists who became family to her, Wendy Heard and Amy Farris, and her nurses at the Guesthouse, especially Jackie.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
