Juanita Vaughan Ash, a long-time resident of Monroe, died at an assisted living facility in Knoxville, Tennessee on April 17, 2021. Born on July 16, 1923 in Lake City, Florida, she was just shy of her ninety-eighth birthday. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Murray White Vaughan, father Howard Lawson Vaughan, and son Lawrence Miles Ash. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jean Ash of Knoxville.
She was briefly survived by her beloved sister, Virginia Vaughan Miles, wife of Oscar Landon Miles. A joint visitation for her and her sister, as close in death as they were in life, will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Monday, May 3, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. A graveside service and interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to River City Humane Society for Cats.
