Funeral service for Mrs. Joyce E. Albritton, 88, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Parkview Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at Enterprise Cemetery near Farmerville, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Albritton was born in Monroe on March 16, 1934, to R.C. McBroom, Sr. and Addie Thompson McBroom. She was a graduate of Ouachita Parish High School. Later she married her husband W.L. “Dub” Albritton. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, where she served as Kitchen Director for over 35 years. Mrs. Albritton was the food Director for Western Sizzlin and Frenchman’s Bend Country Club and she enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and singing in the choir at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. “Dub” Albritton; grandson, Korey Albritton; and siblings, Doris Lee, R.C. McBroom, Jr., Jo Dunn, Jimmy McBroom, and Brenda Trisler.
Survivors include her two sons, Scott Albritton (Belinda) and Keith Albritton (Ruth); two daughters, Sonya West (Donnie) and Sharon Ward (Ronnie); sisters, Virginia Stevens and Shirley Bacon (Woody); brother, Benny McBroom; brother-in-law, Morris Albritton (Dixie); sister-in-law, Laverne White; grandchildren, Erin Geary (Billy), Danielle Wegner (Matt), Whitney Ward, Felicia Albritton, April Jones (Brian), Sharie West Sanders, Patrick West, Crystal Maxwell (Hank), Kayla Albritton, and Brooke Holcomb; twenty great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be James Moore, Brian Jones, Matt Wegner, Steve Albritton, Dane Raymond, and Jeremy Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Hudson Wegner, Grayson Bullock, Kayden West, Peyton Sanders, and Britton Wegner.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all that took care of her in the last years.
