Funeral Services for Ms. Joy Chapman Barriett, 86, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 21, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Adrian Fischer officiating. Interment will follow in Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Ms. Joy Chapman Barriett was born August 20, 1931, and passed away July 17, 2018. She was a lifelong resident of the state of Louisiana. She traveled to many states during her service in the United States Navy. She was a member of St. Paschal’s Catholic Church. Ms. Barriett was an avid animal lover and donated to multiple charities. She devoted her life to her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Chapman, Sr.; mother, Elba Pate; brother, Lloyd Chapman, Jr.; and great granddaughter, Hope Johnson.

Survivors include her daughters, Suzonne Wyles and Michelle Idzior; son, Michael Barriett; grandchildren, Holly Whitaker, Matthew Whitaker, Joy Thomure, Kristin Essex and Stephanie Johnson; two great grandsons, Killian Pilcher and Blake Whitaker; sisters, Cecile C. Marzula and Diane Yocom; brother, Eddie T. Chapman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Stephanie Johnson, Blake Whitaker, Glen Christensen, Alexis Mceacharn and Rachel Elledge.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Our Lady of Fatima Pioneer Club.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, July 20, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
