Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Lasuzzo Cascio, 94, of Monroe, will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 22, 2008, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Puthuppally officiating. Interment will follow in St. Matthew Catholic Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Cascio, a restaurateur, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at St. Francis Specialty Hospital. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe. She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and Cosmopolitan Dance Club. Mrs. Cascio was preceded in death by her husband, Joe David Cascio; parents, Sam Lasuzzo, Sr. and Mary Farace Lasuzzo; sisters, Mary Scalia, Anna Colichia, Sara Sparacino, Rose Gaskins, Grace Peters, and Gussie Schott; and bothers, Joe Lasuzzo, Charlie Lasuzzo, Sam Lasuzzo, and Camille Lasuzzo.
Survivors include her son, Victor David Cascio, Sr. and wife Marie; grandsons, Joe David Cascio, II and wife Rene’, Victor David Cascio, Jr. and Rodney Christopher Cascio and wife Caroline; great grandsons, Joe David Cascio, III, Carter Christopher Cascio, Benjamin Maher Cascio, and John Christopher Cascio; great granddaughter, Katherine Marie Cascio; brother, Tony Lasuzzo; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Tom Baker, John Lauve, Clint Hixson, Sheriff Elect-Royce Toney, Ed Seymour, Dr. Mike Cage, Judge Scott Leehy, and Charles Marsala. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Charles Cascio, Christian Creed, Rev. Scotty Sanders, James Moore, Luke Sanders, Dr. Doug Brown, and Dr. Scott Zentner.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
