Funeral services for Joseph M. Jacola, Sr., 83, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2020, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church in Monroe, with Fr. Mike Thang’wa officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, under the direction of Mulhean Funeral Home Sterlington Road.
Mr. Jacola was born August 25, 1937 in Monroe, LA and passed away November 10, 2020 in Monroe, LA. He served in the United States Army and later in life worked for the News Star as a printer in the composing room. Mr. Jacola was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Church and the Columbus Social Club. He played softball for many years and belonged to a bowling league as well. He also loved horse racing and dancing with his wife Rose. He was a big family man and loved his family greatly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mica Marie Jacola.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are, his wife Rose; children, Joey Jacola and wife, Tonja, Kim Dozier and husband, Don, Anthony Jacola, and wife, Vickie, Mike Jacola and wife, Pam, and Chris McHenry and wife, Terry; grandchildren, Miley, Mia, and Anna, Derek, Elyse, and Lydia, A.J., Aiden, Alex, Brandon, Kristen, Ryan and wife, Erica, Daniel and Matt; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine Roberts, and Vita Williams and husband Carl; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers are Derek Dozier, Luke Albritton, A.J. Jacola, Ryan, Daniel, and Matt McHenry. Honorary pallbearers are Aiden, and Alex Jacola, and Clark McHenry.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:30 Am, on Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Sterlington Road in Monroe.
