A funeral mass celebrating the life of Joseph Anthony Socha, 77, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Thunduparampil and Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paschal Catholic Cemetery, West Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe.
Mr. Socha was born June 26, 1941, in Chicago, IL, and died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Socha was a United States Army veteran, owner of Bakeryland, a handyman and landlord. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council 1337. He enjoyed hunting deer and playing pool with old Knights on Saturday mornings; but his greatest love was his wife, family, and grandchildren.
Mr. Socha was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Charlotte Socha; brother, Leo Socha; and sister, Theresa Socha.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Lucas Socha; children, Joe Socha II (Kristy), Stanley Socha (Aimee), Frances Bevel (Shane), Jimmy Bradbury (Lynette), Judy Matthews (Troy), Johnny Bradbury (LaNelle), and Betty Russ; grandchildren, Marie, Audrey, George, Jane, Graham, Ruby, Jacob, Joshua, Katelynn, Peyton, and Jessica.
Pallbearers will be Glen Scioneaux, Bobby Brinkerhoff, Sean Christian, Darryl Gregory, Jeff Harkey, and Michael Hildebrand.
Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and fellow members of the Knights of Columbus Council 1337 and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly 329.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday with a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent DePaul and Right to Life.
