Jose Santana "Sonny" Arredondo, Sr.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Jose “Sonny” Arredondo, Sr. 83, of Monroe, LA, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Spencer Baptist Church, with his son, Arnold Arredondo officiating. Private Family Interment will be at Salinas Family Cemetery.

Sonny was born December 4, 1940, and passed away on July 29, 2024. He was a member of Spencer Baptist Church. Sonny retired from Four Forks Gin in Alto. After retirement he enjoyed watching tv, reading, and spending time with his family. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Joe Arredondo, Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Esther Lopez Arredondo; three children, Sonia Snell, Sandy Thornhill, Arnold Arredondo; daughter-in-law, Stacey Arredondo; ten grandchildren, Heather Wells, Trey Snell, Nick Thornhill and wife Kimberly, Ashley Place and husband Sean, Ariana Arredondo, Cody Thornhill, Peyton Arredondo, Reagan Arredondo, Presley Arredondo, and Emory Arredondo; ten great-grandchildren, Katelyn Wells, Rayleigh Wells, Dylanne Thornhill, Ainsley Ebey, Ayden Ebey, Charlotte Place, Grayson Thornhill, Emilia Arredondo, Mila Thornhill, and Mason Place; brother, Jose Angel Hernandez and wife Lorraine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Benny Salinas, Johnny Royals, and Jasper Snell.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Joseph Hospice and Avalon Place.
