Jon Steven Jordan

Jon Steven Jordan, age 73, of West Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Services will be 11 AM, Saturday, December 21, 2024, at New Iona Presbyterian Church in West Monroe with Dr. George Wortham officiating.

Jon was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 24, 1951, to John David Jordan and Patricia Lee Dodds Jordan. He graduated from West Monroe High School in 1970 and attended architectural school in Shreveport.

After working in the family business, Jordan’s Saw and Marine, he transitioned to sales at Howard Griffin. As a new challenge, Jon took an IT position at Olin Kraft in West Monroe and continued that line of work at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport. Later in life, he returned home and worked at McKinney Honda in Ruston.

Jon had a servant’s heart. He was led to care for both parents as they aged and reached out to others along the way. Whether you needed a lift or food, he would offer support. Jon could be found lending a hand at New Iona Presbyterian Church, where he developed relationships over Men’s breakfast, Soup for the Soul, or simply handing out bulletins at the door. Even in death, as an organ donor, he shared selflessly with others.

Photography was his passion--he had an artist’s soul. Traveling the country, he would capture the beauty of a vast landscape, the pace of city life, or the elegance of a single flower in bloom. Jon loved capturing moments in time as well as the hearts of those he shared time with.

Jon was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents, and his brother, Scott Jordan. Survivors include his sisters, DeAnn Fitch (Buddy) and Robyn Jordan; his nieces and nephews, Meagan Boyer (James), Morgan Battillo, Melissa Belew (Christian), Ian Mathis, Jarred Fitch (Jennifer), and Colby Fitch (Morgan); great nieces and nephews, Aubrie and Clark Boyer; Mary Ruth and Carter Fitch, and Callen Fitch; multiple aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends that he considered family.
