Johnye McCarthy Daniel, 92, died on July 15, 2021. Johnye was born December 14, 1928, to John Patrick McCarthy and Louise Moore McCarthy. She grew up in Monroe, LA. and graduated from Neville High School in 1946, where she was a Cheerleader and Homecoming Queen. She married Allen Scott Daniel (Scotty) on January 19, 1947, and they were married for 60 years. They resided in Monroe, LA, where they raised their three children. She had 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Johnye was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for over 70 years where she taught Sunday School and kept the nursery children for many years. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Scott Daniel, Sr. and her parents, Louise Moore McCarthy, John Patrick McCarthy, Sr., and son-in-law, James Henry Rivers.
Mrs. Daniel is survived by her three children, Allen Scott Daniel, Jr. (Danny) and wife Delores, Debbie Daniel Rivers, John McCarthy Daniel and wife Lynn; grandchildren, Jennifer Daniel, John David Daniel, Will Daniel (Valerie), Ashley Boyer (Tim), Allen Daniel (Hollie), Kelli Turner (Scott); great grandchildren, Eloise Wall, Evelyn Wall, Maddox Daniel, Henry Daniel, Butler Daniel, Peyton Daniel, Thomas Boyer, John Daniel Boyer, Mason Turner, Ben Daniel, and Beau Daniel; brother, John Patrick McCarthy, Jr. and wife Ruby; and nieces, Kathy Dowling (Jerry) and LaRae Cantu (Valentine).
Funeral service will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Parkview Baptist Church with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until 11:00AM Saturday at Parkview Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Will Daniel, Allen Daniel, John David Daniel, Scott Turner, John Tolar, Ken Gable, Jim Lockhart, and Brian Breard.
