Johnnie Lee Payne

Memorial services for Mr. Johnnie Lee Payne, 80, of Haughton, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Mr. John Knox officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M – 2:00 P.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.

Mr. Payne was born October 1, 1940, in Independence, LA, and passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Mr. Payne proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. After he was discharged from the military, he worked for the Baton Rouge Police Department for 30 years and served as a Bossier Parish Reserve Deputy for several years before going on to work in private security. Mr. Payne enjoyed boating, spending time with family and friends, and loved watching his granddaughter, Hollie, perform and grow into a young woman.

Mr. Payne was preceded in death by his father, Claudie Payne; mother, Ruby Nash; brothers, Ed Payne, Charles Payne, and Preston Nash; and sisters, Janis Harrell and Belle Bickford.

Survivors include his wife, Theresa Payne; sons, Michael Payne (Christina), and John Wesley Payne (Wylene); granddaughter, and light of his life, Hollie Payne; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
