Funeral Services for Mr. Johnnie D. Hammons, 79, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 27, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Eugene Brown officiating. Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Bentley, LA.

Mr. Hammons was born on October 3, 1934 in Shreveport, LA and died on January 22, 2013 in West Monroe, LA. He retired from the United States Navy after 24 years of service, and also retired from AT&T after 20 years of service. Mr. Hammons was an avid golfer and car enthusiast. He love LSU sports, but everything was a distant second to his family. His wife, Patricia Mae Hammons preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Michael Hammons, Donald Hammons, Richard Hammons, and Debra Hammons; brothers, Ronnie Hammons and Winston Hammons; sister, Jennifer Gilmore; grandchildren, Cody Hammons, Jaime Hammons, Casey Hammons, Lindsey Hammons, Stephen Hammons and by his great grandchildren, Brandon, Deklan and Bella Hammons.

Pallbearers will be Eric Hammons, Mark Hammons, Caleb Hammons, Cody Hammons, Casey Taylor and Clark Hammons. Honorary pallbearer will be Ron Hammons.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
