Funeral service for Mr. John Stephen Santone, 58, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2008, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Sebastian Kallarackal officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd., Monroe.
Mr. Santone passed away at his residence on May 24, 2008, after a courageous three year battle with cancer. He has been a resident of Monroe since 1984. Mr. Santone retired as a Human Resource Representative with State Farm Insurance Company Regional Office. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mr. Santone was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Cooper Santone; and sister, Christine Winterrowd.
Survivors include his wife, Hallie Lee Miller Santone of Monroe, LA; daughter, Jill Santone Gingles and husband Mack of Corpus Christi, TX; two sons, Adam Lee Santone of Lafayette, IN and Luke Stephen Santone of Monroe, LA; father, John C. Santone of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Janine Laenger and husband Keith of Keatchie, LA; and Sharon Griffin and husband Johnny of Bossier City, LA; three brothers, Kevin Santone and wife Pat of Tyler, TX; Roger Santone and wife Sue of Argyle, TX; and Brian Santone and wife Diane of Haughton, LA; brother-in-law, Bob Winterrowd of Collierville, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Daniel Santone, Jonathon Santone, Brian Winterrowd, Tyler Santone, Cody Santone, and Matthew Rackar.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Wednesday with a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
The family greatly appreciates the care and concern given to Steve by M.D. Anderson Medical Center, Dr. Katrina Glover, Dr. Owen Meyers and his staff, and Dr. Coy Gammage and his staff, especially Sheila, Ila, Nancy, Lisa and Ramona, one extra special angel, Beverly Mitchell of Houston, TX, and everyone at Hospice Care of Louisiana.
