John Wayne "DJ KrAzY" Ponder

A Celebration of Life for Mr. John Wayne “DJ KrAzY” Ponder, 53, of Monroe, LA, will be 6:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe with Rev. John Wesley Jones officiating.

Mr. Ponder was born October 16, 1970, and passed away on February 27, 2024. He was an entrepreneur. Mr. Ponder had a larger-than-life personality and never met a stranger. He loved his kids and family unconditionally. Mr. Ponder was artistic, creative, and was always working on some type of project. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicky Ponder and Linda McDaniel Ponder.

Survivors include his three children, Morgan Ponder Vallery and husband Logan, Zak Ponder, Hannah Ponder; one grandson, Hudson Vallery; brother, Chris Ponder and wife Latasha; sister, Angie Ponder; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Thomas McKinley, Roger Curl, Richard Pettit, Shea Jemerson, and Casey Shows. 

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of St. Francis Medical Center and friends and family for the love, prayers, and donations. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to assist with the funeral arrangements. 

Dad, we’re going to miss you so much. We know you were our biggest fan, and we were yours. We’re so thankful to have the memories we have with you, we’ll never forget them. 

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
