John Ward Miller

A Private Family Memorial gathering for Mr. John Ward Miller, 83, of Winnsboro LA, will be held at Lake Conroe, TX with his son-in-law Ed Skinner officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro.

Mr. Miller was born September 9, 1939 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 25, 2023. He was a professional salesman at heart and loved the outdoors, music, family and his church. As a child, Mr. Miller and his team went to the Little League World Series. He graduated from Winnsboro High School in 1957. Mr. Miller then went on to graduate from Louisiana Tech University in 1961, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Forestry. While at Louisiana Tech University, he was a member of the Tech band, playing the trombone.

Mr. Miller is preceded in death by his father, Woodrow Wilson Miller; mother, Bessie Miller Gallman; sister, Ann Miller Roberts; and wife, Betty Evans Miller.

He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters Lisa Miller Pierce and husband Robert (Bo) Pierce, Faye Miller Skinner and husband Eddie Skinner and Lori Miller Van Dresar and husband Todd Van Dresar; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his special friend Shirley Johnson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cat Brent, for her special loving care during his final days. The family will be forever grateful.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Plantation Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A private service will held on Lake Conroe where he spent some of his happiest times fishing.
