A Memorial Mass celebrating the life of John Michael Buttitta, Jr., 53, will be held at 2:30 P.M., Friday, May 13, 2022, at St. Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe with Fr. Pike Thomas officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Michael was born in Monroe, LA, on February 7, 1969, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 2, 2022. He graduated from St. Frederick High School and after graduation, he was a Monroe City Firefighter. He later relocated to Colorado and then to New York City. He was an avid body builder and used his passion for weightlifting in a career as a personal trainer. His abundant love for Jesus was demonstrated when he often shared the word of God with his family and close friends.
Michael is survived by his parents, John and Helen Buttitta; two sons, John Michael III and Henry Coulter; siblings, Joan Warrick, Robert Buttitta (April), and Amy Bayles (Chris); paternal grandmother, Connie Osborne; and Cathy Hopkins, who was like a second mom to Michael. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 1:30 P.M. until service time on Friday at the church.
