John Godina

Graveside Services for John Godina, 71, of Choudrant, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 21, 2023, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Deacon Bill Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be held from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Godina was born June 13, 1952, in Monroe, LA, and passed away on August 17, 2023, at his residence in Choudrant, LA.

John was the owner of Godina Painting and Drywall for close to 50 years. He found joy in hunting, especially if it was squirrel, deer, or dog hunting. John was a family man and loved them more than anything. He enjoyed holiday cookouts and family gatherings. He was a cock fighter and a skilled wood worker who made beautiful pieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eufracio and Lillie Mae Godina; and two sisters, Glory Bass and Liz Doyle.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vickie; daughters, Catina Lewis and husband, Billy, Elishia Lewis and husband, Anthony; grandchildren, Billy Lewis, Jr. and wife, Katie, Chelsy Lewis, Justin Lewis and fiancé, Brianna, and Austin Lewis; great grandchildren, John Noah Lewis, Ross Lewis, Sutton Lewis, and Kacelyn Lewis; brother, Monico Godina; sisters, Juanita Cantu and Margaret Washington; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Austin Lewis, Justin Lewis, Bill Lewis, Jr., Michael Washington, Robert Washington, and Michael Kirtland.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Donnie Beavers and Bobby Godina.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Passages Hospice, specifically Adrian Evans and Dr. Ron Hammett for everything they did for the family and John.
