Funeral Services for Mr. John Elmer Pahal, 88, of Monroe, LA, will be 3:00 PM Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel Rev. Aaron Dickinson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
John was born and raised in Start Louisiana and attended Start High School graduating in 1950. He married Ruby Mae Parker Pahal in 1950 and served as an apprentice carpenter/brick layer/tile setter until opening his own company, Pahal Tile Company located in Crew Lake, Louisiana in the late 50s. He went into construction in the mid-60s and started Pahal Construction Company based in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a Mason and an ordained full-gospel minister and served as a lead prison minister at Ouachita Correctional Institute in Monroe, Louisiana from 1985 to 2015 when he retired.
He is preceded in death by his parents, E.G. Pahal and Helen Wynn Henderson Burd; wife of 56 years, Ruby Mae Parker Pahal; and sister, Mary Wynn Pahal Tobasco.
Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Debra Pahal Maddox (Gregory M. Maddox) of Tallahassee, FL, daughter, Cindy Pahal Miller, of Monroe, LA, son, Michael D. Pahal, (Diana Hancock Pahal) of Monroe, LA, daughter, Tammy Ann Pahal-Morgan (Gene Morgan), of Navarre, FL, daughter, Penny Wynn Pahal Sullivan (Monte Sullivan), of Panama City Beach, FL; faithful best friend/companion, Julia Everett, Monroe, LA; 10 grandchildren, Stein Glenn, Terah Parker, Ashley Chandler, John Michael Pahal, Brandon Miller, Angie Jeslink, Adora Miller, Nikole Mathews, Jessica Robbins, Cole Sullivan; 21 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
