Memorial services celebrating the life of Mr. John David (Santa Rusty) Wright, Jr., 67, of Downsville, LA will be 2:00 P.M. Friday February 17, 2017 in Feazel Chapel at First Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Dr. Woods Watson officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA
Rusty unexpectedly died February 13, 2017 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Wright was known as “Santa Rusty” in our community, serving in so many activities throughout the year. He was a member of and served First Baptist Church in West Monroe and was an officer for Department of Homeland Security. Rusty loved life and since retirement has been living his dream surrounded by nature and dedicated to those he loved. Everyone has a favorite Rusty story. He loved well and was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wright and Nora Wright and brother, Jimbo Evans.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Mrs. Claudia Liner Wright; Son, Russell Wright and wife, Shireen; Daughters, Tami Wright and Kristie Mitchell and husband, Todd; Grandchildren, Sierra, Rhys, Caleb, and Wesley; Sisters, Lynda Johnson, Mary Woods, and Mary Evans; a host of other family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service time Friday at Feazel Chapel in West Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the LA Baptist Children’s Home designated to the Children’s Christmas Fund.
