Funeral service for Mr. John Bennett Arthur, Jr., 90, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph A. Martina, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe. Mr. Arthur passed away on December 21, 2015, at the Northeast Louisiana War Veterans Home. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Progressive Men’s Club, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. Mr. Arthur was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was awarded several medals that he earned during his Army service during World War II which included: The Bronze Star, The Good Conduct Medal, The World War II Victory Medal, The Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, and numerous others.Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Anna Louise Arthur; children, Patricia Ann Evans and husband Charles of Monroe, LA; John Bennett Arthur III and wife Julie Renee’ of Kingwood, TX; and Roy Joseph Arthur and wife Terri of Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Cynthia Renee’ Arthur, Jayme Renee’ Arthur, Victoria Rose Arthur, and Morgan Avery Evans; and one great grandchild, Arthur Jeffrey Nyquist. Visitation will be from 9:00AM until 10:30 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
