Funeral services for Mr. Joe Grassi, 80, of Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 30, 2009 at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with MSGR Edmund Moore officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA
Mr. Grassi passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
Mr. Grassi was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. He was the store manager with Safeway Grocery Store and after retirement worked full time at Marty’s Fine Jewelry. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Stella Grassi.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Marie Grassi; Daughter, Denise Grassi of Round Rock, TX; Son and Daughter-in-law, Marty and Jennie Grassi of Monroe, LA Grandchildren, Joey Grassi and wife, Amy and Jamie Grassi, Great Grandchildren, Joseph Grassi, Kaylee Grassi and Emmalee Yates; Brothers and Sister-in-laws, Johnny and Mary Grassi and Charles and Mary Jane Grassi all of Lake Village, AR; Sisters, Vicky Clements of Oxford, MS and Catherine Haverkamp of Lake Village, AR; and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Randy Christie, Greg Kennedy, Mike Ackel, David Menotti, Larry Douglas, and Robert Pierini.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2009 with a Vigil Wake at 6:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Staff of Hospice Compassus for their extra special love and care for Joe.
