Funeral services for Mr. Joe A. McHenry, 75, of Monroe will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2009, at Faith United Methodist Church in Hot Springs, AR with Rev. Bob Clark officiating. Interment will be at Morning Star Cemetery in Hot Springs, AR under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. McHenry was born September 9, 1934 in Cardwell, MO and passed away on November 27, 2009 in Monroe. He was of the Methodist faith and a U. S. Marine Corp veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. McHenry retired from Weyerhauser Co. and then owned Standard Fence Co. in Hot Springs, AR. He loved hunting, fishing, and sharing stories.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna McHenry; sister, Virginia Bates; brother, Don McHenry; and his first wife, Georgia McHenry.
Survivors include his wife, Daisy McHenry; daughters, Kathy Vail and husband Mike, and Kristy McHenry; granddaughters, Anna Vail and Emilie Vail; step children, Terry Allbritton, Karen Walters, Michael Allbritton, and Beth Wilson. He is also survived by twelve step grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
The family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Owen Meyers and the 7th Floor Skilled Nursing Staff at St. Francis Medical Center.
