Jodie left this world in the arms of her Lord and Savior on August 27, 2020.
Jodie was born on July 4, 1951, in Lafayette, to George Judice and Jean Beatle Judice. Jodie and her siblings, George Jr., Steven, Kathy, and Jason, grew up in a nice neighborhood, where they were able to play outside and make many childhood memories to cherish as adults. Jodie attended Lafayette High School, where she met her close friends, Ann Cottrell and Jane Barrios. Jodie also met her future husband and love of her life, Glenn Golson Jr., during her high school years. They met on a blind date at her high school’s Junior Prom. After graduating from Lafayette High School in 1969, Jodie and Glenn married on December 21, 1971, at the Catholic Student Center Chapel, on the campus of University of Southwestern Louisiana. They enjoyed 48 years of blissful marriage and adoring love together.
Jodie and Glenn started a family together, and had three children, Aaron, Jennifer, and Alanda. Jodie was a very caring mother, and did what she could to make sure her children had everything they wanted. She worked as an elementary school cafeteria cook while the kids were young to help provide for her family. Later on, she earned an Associate’s degree and became a Surgical Tech at Green Clinic in Ruston.
Family was a huge part of Jodie’s life. She was involved with St. Paschal’s Catholic School in West Monroe, where her children attended. She had been a president of the PTA there, and attended all of her children’s after-school activities. Jodie also enjoyed going on vacations with her family and friends. St. Joseph’s State Park in Florida was one of her most memorable trips! Jodie also loved spending the holidays with all of her family. She enjoyed cooking very traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, and having as many people over as possible to join in their holiday celebration! When Jodie became a grandmother, she was overjoyed! Each new grandchild was a new blessing in her life. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, and always spoiled them with treats! Her grandchildren became the light of her life!
Jodie will be remembered by her friends and family as generous, caring, loving, and responsible. Jodie was definitely a giver, she loved to give, and was uncomfortable with receiving. She enjoyed cooking, and often brought food to member of her family and friends. She was known as a mother of all of her children’s friends. No one left her house feeling hungry or wanting! She was just a natural, caregiver, and her kindness was unyielding.
Jodie will be remembered by her husband, Glenn Golson; her children, Aaron Golson, Jennifer Golson, and Alanda Golson; her beloved grandchildren, Cole, Rémy, Gage, Logan, Kennedy, Jada, and Brooklynn; her siblings, George Judice Jr., Steven Judice, Kathy Judice Brown, and Jason Judice; and her two closest friends, Renee Warnock and Judy Amos.
Jodie’s light will forever shine in us that have known her. She will look down on us and say I love you. She will be loved every minute, missed every day.
Memorials may be made to MedCamps of Louisiana.
