Joan Thompson McDanielFuneral services for Joan Thompson McDaniel, 84, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2015, in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, with Mr. Danny Sidders and Dr. Larry Slay officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. McDaniel was born to Cora and Pete Thompson on February 20, 1931, and passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Landmark Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of West Monroe. She worked for H. R. Hayes at Lumberman’s Supply for over 35 years. Mrs. McDaniel was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, and her parents. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie McDaniel of Shreveport; her son, Wayne McDaniel of West Monroe; her daughter-in-law, Becky McDaniel, and her grandson, Taylor McDaniel. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2015, until start of service at 2:00 PM, in the Mausoleum Chapel of Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the friends, neighbors, and medical personnel of the Monroe/West Monroe area and the caring staff of Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of West Monroe, for the care and love shown to Mrs. McDaniel.
