Jo Lynn Armstrong

Mom joined our Savior on September 13, 2018, at Stoneybrook in West Monroe. She lived a devoted life to her family, whom she loved dearly.

Mom worked at Lewis and Company in Ruston as the Personnel Manager for 23 years. Anyone that knew her recognized her ability to get things done. She did this for her family as well as anything she was involved with. Mom was very involved in Temple Baptist Church while in Ruston and most recently at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. Over the years, she participated in Eastern Star, Zeta RHO Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, her church supper club, and was a longtime member of the volunteer auxiliary at Lincoln General Hospital.

Mom is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Felix Ray Armstrong; her son, Felix Ray Armstrong, Jr.; son-in-law, Robert E. Carter; mother, Bertha Stewart; father, Walter N. Stewart; brother, Douglas Stewart; sister-in-law, Lois Stewart; sister, Elizabeth Tichenor; brother-in-law, Charles Tichenor; nephew, Don Tichenor; niece, Annette Smith.

Mom is survived by her daughters, Linda Carter and fiancé Joe Southwell, Kayla Johnson and husband David Johnson; daughter-in-law, Peni Armstrong; grandkids, Bo Carter and wife Nicole, Kade Carter and wife Amanda, Malynn Smith and husband David, Zan Sanders and husband Rick, Coplen Johnson, John David Johnson, Emily Armstrong, and Felix Ray Armstrong, III and wife Jessica. Her precious great grandchildren, Cole, Caroline, and Chloe Carter, Elle and Max Carter, Carson and Carter Smith, and Avery and James Armstrong.

The service for Mrs. Jo Lynn Armstrong, 88, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 14, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 300 McMillan Road, West Monroe, LA. Brother Ricky Baker will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Mt. Lebanon, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Pallbearers will be Bo Carter, Kade Carter, David Smith, Coplen Johnson, John David Johnson, Rick Sanders, Felix Ray Armstrong, III, Jerry Tichenor, Terry Tichenor, James Stewart, and Ken Dorsey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Leo Hyde, Wade Dickerson, Lewis Kinnaird, Ricky Snead, Bill Temple, and Glen Brunson.
