Jo Ann Martin McMorris

Funeral services for Jo Ann Martin McMorris, 77, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 28, 2012, at Lakeshore Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. McMorris passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was a member of Lakeshore Baptist church for 51 years, where she served faithfully in many capacities.

Mrs. McMorris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Gordon McMorris, Sr.; and sister, Estalene Monzingo.

Survivors include her daughter, Judy McMorris Manuel and husband Sylvan of Eunice, LA; son, John Gordon McMorris, Jr. and wife Karen of Rayville, LA; granddaughter, Holly Manuel McElwee and husband Bart of Moss Bluff, LA; great granddaughter, Julianna Kate McElwee; sisters, Lynette Michel and husband Gasper of Metairie, LA,  Bonnie Ford of Monroe, Verdine Holder and husband John of Shreveport, LA, Maurene Sims of West Monroe, and Jerene Davis and husband Roy of West Monroe; aunt, Daree Rodden of Monroe; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and Lakeshore Baptist Church family.

Pallbearers will be Mike McMorris, Charles Lester Pilcher, Kim Pilcher, Rob Williamson, Buddy Cork, and Tom Cathey.

Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at Lakeshore Baptist Church.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care.

Memorials may be made to Lakeshore Baptist Church (flowerbed upkeep), Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
