Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy Dee Bruce, 83, of Mangham, LA, will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 16, 2022, at Mangham Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Aultman and Dr. Cory Bruce officiating. Special music by Jonathan Dean. Interment will follow at Gwin Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville.
Mr. Bruce was born July 21, 1939 and went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2022. He was a life-long member, and his mother was a charter member of Mangham Baptist Church. His father was the head deacon for many years at the church. Mr. Bruce served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a farmer by trade. Mr. Bruce enjoyed buying trucks and bought five in one year. He was also a school bus driver for Richland Parish for 44+ years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira Lee Bruce and Ruby Boughton Bruce; and his identical twin brother, William Lee “Bill” Bruce.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bobbie Brunson Bruce; son, Robyn Dee Bruce and wife Tammie; two granddaughters, Lauren Bates and her husband Kraig, and Tristan Bruce Binkley and her husband Tyler; two great-grandchildren, Lynnin Pearl Chambers and Zaelynn Bates; his special pets, Bella and BB; brother-in-law, Robert Boughton and wife, Dianne; nephews and nieces, William L. Bruce, Jr., Brandi Bruce Cordill and her husband, Joey, Cory Bruce and his wife, Melissa, Linsey Bruce, Jeffery Boughton and his wife, Jennifer, Christy Hendrix and husband, James, as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Gary Gilley, Brother Ausberry, Neal Harwell, Larry Cumpton, Perry Fleming, and Danny Hendrix. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Binkley, Kraig Bates, Sambo Hixson, Billy Bruce, Billy Bruce Boughton, Jeff Boughton, J.L. Hendrix, Larry McGraw, Calvin Stapp, Johnny Cannon, Pat Hollis and Will Vaughn,
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to the American Heart Association or charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Richland Parish Sheriff Office, the Mangham Police Department, and Elara Hospice.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, December 16, 2022, at First Baptist Church Mangham.
