Jimmy A. Cordell

Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy Cordell, 80, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 1, 2021, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Jimmy Cordell was born October 11, 1940 and passed away March 30, 2021. After graduating high school, Jimmy pursued a career in the United States Army that spanned 30+ years. After retirement, he devoted much of his time to the American Legion primarily along with the VFW. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, son and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Cordell; mother, Rachel Cordell; wife, Jena Cordell; and brother, Johnny Cordell.

Survivors include his sons, Stephen Cordell and wife Stacy; sisters, Jeanette Wilson, and Joyce Martin and husband Jerry; sisters-in-law, Cindy Cordell, Helen Hunter, and Ouida McCarty and husband Robert; grandchildren, Katelyn Cordell, Madelyn Cordell, Cailey Phillips, and Addison Phillips.
