Jimmie Ray Cody

Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmie Ray Cody, 92, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 18, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA, with Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Old Bethel Church Cemetery in Clarks, LA.

Mr. Cody was born August 18, 1930, in Clarks, LA and passed away September 15, 2022, at his home in West Monroe, LA. He was a Deacon at Fair Park Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to the camp and he loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Cody proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Brazil Nugent Cody and Bertie Vermillion Cody.

Survivors include his wife, Velta Mae McNaughton Cody; son, Ricky Cody and wife Kim; daughter, Debbie Bond and husband Jim; grandchildren, Kayla Coody and husband Aaron, Kristen Cody, Hailey Batarseh and husband David, Taylor Hill, Callie Bond, Codi Bridges and husband Ian, and Jared Cody; and great grandchildren, Kelsi Coody, Ben Batarseh, and Brooks Bridges.

Pallbearers will be Bill Thurston, Jay Thurston, Hank Thurston, Bill Ayres, Ricky Harris, Curtis McNaughton, and James McNaughton.

Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 7:00PM Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
