Jerry Wayne Hines was born March 9, 1953, in Monroe, LA to Willie L. and Jean Hines. Jerry passed away from a sudden illness on August 2, 2022. Jerry’s request to be cremated will be honored and there will be a memorial service held at a later date.
Jerry was a 1971 graduate of Wossman High School and went back to graduate from NLU (ULM) in 2000. After graduating, he taught at Rayville Middle School until leaving due to his wife’s relocation.
Jerry was a retired outside sales representative covering most of the United States west of the Mississippi. He was active in coaching Little League, Dixie Majors, Boy Scouts of America, Sunday School and watching Baseball. His greatest love of all were times spent with his three grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norma Hines; son, Jerry Hines Jr. and wife, Shondra; daughter, Michelle Walters; grandchildren, Brandon Hines, Haley Walters, and Aiden Walters; brothers, Willie L. Hines and wife, Joyce, and Tommy Hines and wife, Beth; sister, Barbara Pike; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Rankin; brother-in-law’s, Danny Collins and wife, Rhonda and James Dyer and wife, Marcy; numerous nieces and nephews.
