Funeral service for Mr. Jerry Church, 65, of Sterlington, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Thursday, February 1, 2024, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Dye officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Graveside service will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Visitation will be from 8:00AM until service time at the church. 

Jerry was born on February 25, 1958, in Lawton, OK, and passed away on January 28, 2024, in Monroe. He was preceded in death by his dad, Shelby O. Church, Sr., his mom, Mary R. Church; and his sister, Donna Payne.

He is survived by his wife Tommie Church; daughter, Stefanie Stewart and her husband Brandon Stewart; two grandchildren, Jaxson and Lilly; his brother Shelby O. Church, Jr. (Bud) and his wife Holly Church; and his niece, Michelle Payne along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

As a child, Jerry grew up traveling the world with his family while his dad was serving in Army Intelligence. They lived in many places including Libya, Korea, France, Honduras, and several places in the states. After traveling the world, they landed in Calhoun, LA.

Jerry and Tommie began their life together in 1980, and their daughter Stefanie Nicole was born four years later.

Jerry has enjoyed many hobbies through the years. He was an avid bass fisherman who enjoyed tournament fishing. He also loved playing his electric guitar DJ -ing, karaoke, and showing off his aquariums in their home.

Jerry worked for State Farm for 40 years before retiring in 2016.  Lately, his greatest joys have been cruising the Caribbean with his wife, Tommie, spending time with his daughter and son-in-law, Brandon, and watching and cheering for Jaxson and Lilly in all their activities. 

Pallbearers will be Steve Mckeithen, Doug Mckeithen, Brad Jolley, Sean Mckeithen , Hunter Jolley, Tanner Jolley, Drake Jolley, and Dylan Opp

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bud Church and Jim Park

Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church.
