Funeral services for Jeffrey Dale Carter, 27, of Monroe, LA will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 29,2010, at First Christian Church in Monroe with Rev. Johnny Albright officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Jeffrey passed away Sunday, August 22, 2010, in Wells, Nevada. He was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, a “2000” graduate of Neville High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. Jeffrey was a member of the Monroe Jaycee Organization where he loved playing on the Jaycee softball team. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, competitive archery, Louisiana Tech football and the Boston Red Socks. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pappaw William A. “Bill” Burford, Jr.; and aunt, Shirley W. Burford.
Survivors include his parents, Dianne and Tim Carter; sister, Stacy Carter; grandmother, Mammaw Alice Rae Burford all of Monroe, LA; grandparents, Carole and David Carter of Wellington, KS; uncles, Billy Burford, Lee R. Burford and wife Ginni, Ken F. Burford and wife Brenda, Rick Carter and wife Nancy, and Kerry Carter and wife Diane; and numerous cousins. Jeffrey also leaves behind his canine buddy, “Jamie”.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Dees, Ben Hammett, Jason Hays, Ben Logue, Clint Nordan, Zack Sweeney, Jordan Taylor, and Matt Voorhees.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Monroe Jaycees.
Visitation will be from 4:00PM until 7:00PM Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made in memory of Jeffrey Carter to defer final expenses to the Neville Alumni and Friends Association, 600 Forsythe Avenue, Monroe, LA 71201 or to the charity of your choice.
